How I Voted on Important Issues

The Bills

  • HB0001:  The State Budget: I voted against the state budget. They were trying to spend 10.92 Billion dollars. Some in not very useful places. I also voted to reduce the budget by $700 million through various amendments. And I voted against all amendments raising the budget. See my statement here on Limited Government.

  • HB0125:  Repeal gun free zones and preemption amendments. I voted for this as it is essential for our 2nd Amendment rights.

  • HB00148:  Regulation of abortions. I voted for this as I am strongly pro-life and believe that every pre-born child should be given the same rights as the rest of us. Life, Liberty, and The Pursuit of Happiness.

  • SF0099:  Children gender change prohibition. I voted for this as a protection for our minors who should not be bodily mutilated before they come of age and can legally make their own decisions.

Americans For Prosperity Mailer Response

A couple mailers were recently sent out to the voter of House District 2 saying that I am Bringing Washington Values to Wyoming. Here is my response:

HB0069 had nothing to do with “locking up natural resources.” It was about property rights and provided that significant alterations to reclamation plans be made with the consent of a landowner, which would, if passed, allow mining to CONTINUE. Characterizing this bill as "locking up natural resources" is dishonest.

This was the ESA bill. My issues with this bill:

  1. It promotes preschool.
  2. It only applies to some students based on parental income.
  3. As I read the constitution it is questionable if it follows it. Specifically Article 3 section 36. Prohibited Appropriations. "No appropriation shall be made for charitable, industrial, educational or benevolent purposes to any person, corporation or community not under the absolute control of the state, nor to any denominational or  sectarian institution or association."

The mailer doesn't tell you that I voted FOR the bill when it provided universal school choice and contained no pre-K provisions, but then voted against it when these common sense portions were stripped out.

HB0066 ~This was the bill prohibiting mask, vaccine and testing discrimination. This was a tough bill for me, because it pitted the rights of individuals against the rights of business owners. I feel that rights of an individual trump the rights of a business owner who has no business knowing if you have been vaccinated or tested.

As always, I am ready and willing to talk to you if you have any questions. Please feel free to call, text, or email me.
